CooCooRon's Cafe @ Jalan Gold Jade

My friend and partner has taken over the CooCooRon"s Cafe at Gold Jade Road.  We will be expecting lotsa upgrading and new menu coming up real soon.  Was invited to their menu photography two weeks ago and I get to try some of the food.They have a list of menu to choose from.  You can have try on their western food or if you prefer their local/asian delicacies.  All their food does not have added MSG.

That place is cozy and fun.  It is a fun place for friends gatherings and hang out or it can be a nice place to have a quiet place to have a cup of tea and surf thru their free wifi.

Hakka Lui Cha @ Jalan Intan

On the 7th days of Chinese New Year, Chinese Hakka clan will celebrate the day by serving Lui Chai to family. While I am now from Hakka clan my mom don't cook Lui Cha on that day.  So me and my friend went to a very famous lui cha stall which situated at a corner terrace house at Jalan Intan.  This stall is featured in one of the food show by Axian.  Indeed it was really nice.  I have went back more and more of that.  This Lui Cha is so addictive. 

This consist of Rice, Cangkuk Manis, Long Bean, Leek, preserved carrots and peanuts.  The ingredient might be diff from others.

The ingredient of the herbs consist of 7 - 10 of herbs which been pounded and boil into soup.

Reunite for CNY @ Nu Er Hong, Pullman

Reunite in Rabbit year with Nu Er Hong, Pullman Kuching.  Nu Er Hong, the contemporary chinese restaurant at Pullman Kuching proudly presents the magnificent 8-course set dinner.  They are offering three type of menus - Wood Rabbit, Silver Rabbit and Golden Rabbit which priced at RM688++, RM788++ and RM888 per table of 10 person.

Each courses begin with a "Fortune Platter" Yee Sang, a luck bringing appetizer where the family members gather round the table and toss it together by chopsticks.  For the Chinese community, they believe the tossing of Yee Sang to be significant to longevity and prosperity for the coming year.

Nu Er Hong is offering three type of Yee Sang that is Vegetarian "Yee Sang", Classic "Yee Sang" and Spicy "Yee Sang".  The basic ingredient of the VegetarianYee Sang consist of shredded apples, lotus roots, thai mangoes, shredded pineapples, papaya shredded pickle, ginger shredded, gherkins shredded, pickled leaks shredded, preserved sweet lime, fresh lime, pomelo, white radish, yam, red carrot, plum paste, apple jam, apricot jam, crispy crackers, cinnamon ground and green Kua Yin.  While the Classic Yee Sang and Spicy Yee Sang having almost same ingredient with vegetarian Yee Sang.  They replaced the shredded fruits with Salmon fish.  The Spicy Yee Sang has few extra ingredient which is Dried Scallop, Dried Shrimps, Dried Chili and Anchovies.

We were served with Spicy Yee Sang.

Now is the time to toss the Yee Sang, it is believe that the higher you toss the more prosper you will be.  Each round of tossing will be accompanied by the good words and greetings.

Next dish is braised shark's fin soup with treasure of sea which is named "Prosperity Symbol".

Their Chef's specialty dishes are named "Lucky 8", braised eight treasure duck with fresh mushroom and vegetable

"Dragon Dance" is steamed grouper with superior broth in "Cantonese" style.

"Red lantern" is Nu Er Hong special two flavor prawn.  Wok-toss fresh water prawns with golden sand & salted egg and special-cooked deep sea King prawns with butter, cheese and coconut

"Bountiful Harvest" wok-toss mixed vegetables, seafood & house-mad beancurd in winter melon.

"Golden Blossom" Taiwan "Cheong Fun" with mix seafood, asparagus in dried scallop paste and many more.

Lastly everybody favorite dessert! "Sweet Temptation" chilled vanilla in sweetened honey dew with sago jelly and pamelo.

GM's Cocktail Reception @ Pullman Hotel, Kuching

I was invited to the GM's Cocktail Reception on the 5th January 2010.  This reception is to introduce their new GM Mr Eric Tan and also to bid farewell to Mr. Fabrice Mini.  Mr. Fabrice is going to move back to Bali for good.  Wish well and good luck in future.

It consist of capsicum and aubergine topped with  mustard.  I don't really fancy this as i dun like capsicum but Yien love it very very much.

Well i don't quite like this,  is medium raw beef serve with tomato juice ice shaving (it taste like ice shaving but it was not).

Onion puff was the favorites of all of us.  It was so yummy! The looks is so simple that you don't even think it will taste so good.

Here come the dessert time.  YUMMY!!!!!  We have a competition see who can stuff the cheese cakes into mouth at once.  RLOL! YienYien I will practice that again.  Then we try to compete one more time
